Black People Like… is a Freeform original social series that launched in February 2020 to start a conversation that challenges assumptions about Blackness and Black culture. The series was filmed as a six-person roundtable discussion—comprised of influencers, comedians, writers, and activists—each episode led/”moderated” by talent with personal investment in the episode premise.
Within our society lies an inherent bias as to what is and is not “for Black people”—be it certain types of music, hobbies, behaviors, etc. BPL was created to bring those biases to the surface and address them candidly. In this roundtable series, Freeform goes over all the unique, fun, dynamic, interesting things that black people like with the twist that… *drum roll*… every kind of person likes it too. This series is about bringing people together. Through the sharing of personal stories and an open dialogue, Freeform explores topics not commonly associated with black culture.
