The Society of Valued Minds (SoVM) campaign centered on affirming the value of every mind, celebrating individuality, and driving community by opening conversations about mental health. Through relatable narratives and bold, creative self-expression, influencers invited audiences to feel less alone, more empowered, and more confident in their own mental health journeys.
The Society of Valued Minds (SoVM) influencer campaign was built on a foundational belief: authentic self-expression and community connection are powerful tools for reducing mental health stigma and supporting young people navigating mental health conditions. To bring this belief to life, we developed a strategic, creator-first plan designed to elevate lived experience, foster meaningful collaboration, and meet audiences where they already engage.
Our first priority was identifying the right voices. We identified six mental health influencers and advocates to partner with—individuals who authentically embodied the SoVM mission and were deeply passionate about mental health advocacy. Each creator brought a distinct lived experience and creative style, ensuring a diverse and representative range of perspectives. This intentional curation allowed the campaign to feel credible, human, and reflective of real mental health journeys rather than misrepresenting the diversity of mental health conditions through a one-size-fits-all narrative.
From there, we fostered intentional creative collaboration. Rather than prescribing rigid messaging, we partnered closely with each influencer to co-create content rooted in their own self-expression and personal truth. Influencers were encouraged to share how they proudly and boldly live with mental health conditions, while connecting their stories to meaningful resources and the broader SoVM mission. This approach resulted in content that felt deeply personal, emotionally resonant, and organically aligned with each creator’s existing community.
To maximize impact, the first wave of influencer content launched during Mental Health Awareness Month, anchoring the campaign in a moment of heightened national conversation around mental health. This initial activation established visibility and set the tone for authentic, lived-experience storytelling to come. But rather than confining the campaign to a single month, we extended the rollout across the six months that followed, aligning influencer stories with key mental health awareness days throughout the year. Each creator’s content was thoughtfully paired with observances that reflected their personal journey—including Suicide Prevention Awareness, ADHD Awareness, Men’s Mental Health, and others—ensuring their stories felt timely, relevant, and deeply personal.
Based on audience behavior and platform strengths, the campaign was strategically distributed across TikTok and Instagram. This channel mix allowed SoVM to expand reach while deepening engagement within its growing social community.
The Society of Valued Minds (SoVM) influencer campaign did far more than generate awareness, it sparked meaningful connection at scale. The result was more than reach—it was resonance, deepening support for young people impacted by mental health conditions, amplifying authentic creator voices, and growing an engaged social community.
By centering lived experience and self-expression, the campaign generated more than 1.35 million impressions and 1.44 million video views across TikTok and Instagram, resulting in more than 5,900 engagements, including likes, comments, shares, and saves. Influencer storytelling prompted meaningful interaction and conversation, encouraging audiences to engage openly with content focused on mental health, self-advocacy, and artistic self-expression.
A key indicator of success was the effectiveness of SoVM’s creator-first approach. By empowering six mental health influencers to lead with their own authentic voices—rather than scripted messaging—the campaign fostered trust, relatability, and sustained engagement. This approach allowed SoVM to reach audiences at scale while maintaining credibility and emotional resonance.
The campaign also contributed to measurable community growth, including adding more than 3,500 new followers during the campaign timeframe. Engagement patterns demonstrated active participation, with audiences sharing content, saving posts, and engaging in discussions that reinforced SoVM’s mission of making every mind feel seen, valued, and less alone.
