Daniel Thomer is a Creative Director based in New York, currently working at VML and focused on The Coca-Cola Company brands. He joined the agency in the U.S. in 2021 after spending over four years at the network’s Brazilian office, where he was lastly a lead copywriter for the Visa account. Prior to that, he had come up with creative strategies, catchy concepts, fully integrated campaigns, and buzzy ads for national, regional, and global brands, such as Absolut, BIC, Colgate, Danone, Honda, LG, New Balance, Santander, and Uber Eats. As a creative, he has been recognized internationally by the industry’s highest awards, including multiple Lions at Cannes in all of its most recent editions, as well as accolades from D&AD, Effie, LIA, New York Festivals, One Show, and others. In addition to his more than a decade of advertising, Daniel has a track record creating silly, unpretentious, and just-sometimes-professional content for the internet. Including a parody animation that reached 8 million views in a matter of days, a viral college-time Twitter account, and episodes for a scripted comedy released on YouTube. The passion became formal when he was invited to lead a one-year format-development project at Globo, Latin America’s largest TV network, with a focus on web formats. Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in media and communications from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro.
