The goal of these 4 videos is simple – to better educate and engage consumers about the options that might be available to them through the health care exchange and what changes health care reform will bring. These videos will also drive web traffic back to state specific urls (bcbsxx.com/health-care-reform) to provide individuals with additional information regarding health care reform and to answer additional questions that they may have regarding health care reform. By creating a more informed and engaged consumer population, we believe we are promoting our industry and the options that are available to our prospective members. Topics featured: - Health Care Law & The Timeline - Factors Affecting the Cost of Health Care - Premium Tax credits - What will insurance cover? Videos are offered in both Spanish and English. While still early on in the campaign, the feedback that we have gathered has indicated a positive impact on consumer engagement and understanding of the Affordable Care Act. Consumers in all five of our state continue to watch and engage with these videos to better understand the changes that are taking place to health insurance and within the industry. Our You Tube videos views are high and represent only a small portion of the overall number the videos have been viewed since they have been showed within the community, at retail locations and within provider offices and practices. HCSC is always working to find new ways to engage and educate our members, employer groups and individuals to help them better understand their health insurance and the options they have. We expect to build more public traffic over time, user-to-user, and will also extend reach by continuing to promote these videos via traditional and non-traditional marketing vehicles. We have already promoted them in member, provider, employer and employee publications.
