Southwest Airlines is the most LUV'd airline in Social Media! The airline has a small, but mighty, Social Media Team that is constantly finding new ways to make the brand relevant, engaging, and FUN in the social media space. The airline was a pioneer in blogging and continues to tell the Southwest story via the Nuts About Southwest blog, where Employees share what it's like behind-the-scenes at the LUV Airline, Southwest also provides outstanding Social Customer Care and will continue to grow and expand this program over the next few years. Southwest will continue growing its strength in social media with the construction of a revolutionary new Listening Center, powered by Salesforce Radian6. Construction began on the project in January 2014. The center will provide a collaborative workspace where the airline can, in real time, listen to, engage with, and analyze social conversation among Customers, news media, and Employees.Southwest Airlines was an early adopter of Social Media. After we wrapped up Airline on the A&E Network, we felt the need to continue the look “behind the scenes" with our Customers. Out of that necessity, the Nuts About Southwest Blog was born. It’s no secret that Customers who LUV Southwest also “Like" us on Facebook and want to follow us on Twitter. Southwest was the first airline worldwide to reach three million Facebook fans and our brand timeline on Facebook was also an industry-leading effort, rich with our Company history. These tools enable us to share what is happening at Southwest with the world, but more importantly they allow us to hear directly from Customers, Employees, media, and fans in real-time. Our Customer Care Team has provided outstanding service throughout weather events and crisis situations, helping our Customers get where they need to go or providing answers to their questions - all via Twitter and Facebook. Southwest is the epitome of a Social Business. It's a Culture that we've embraced since the 1970s. People WANT to connect with Southwest Airlines online, we are a trusted and FUN brand that is absolutely rocking the social web.
