Swiss Arabian, a fragrance brand, was entering the US with no TikTok account, no content and no audience. It was walking into PerfumeTok, where established fragrance brands already own the For You Page.
The goal: build a US TikTok Shop from scratch that made money, with organic content, creator affiliates and paid ads working together.
The idea: you can't smell a video. So the launch would be built on education, teaching fragrance buyers what each scent is and why it's worth trying, instead of lifestyle shots.
Fragrance is hard to sell through a screen, so every piece of the plan started with education.
Audiences first. Before posting anything, we defined five high-value audience segments already interested in niche fragrance, and targeted content at each one.
Content built for PerfumeTok. We published more than 70 native-first videos: expert-led product demonstrations and educational fragrance content in place of generic lifestyle posts. That content earned its reach organically: 89% of traffic came from the For You Page.
Creators next. Affiliate creators in the fragrance niche received samples and sold through TikTok Shop, extending the brand's reach to buyers who already trust them.
Paid on top of proof. GMV Max went on top of the content and affiliate activity that was already converting, so ad spend scaled what was working instead of guessing.
Organic, affiliates and paid ads ran as one funnel. The result was a near-even split: GMV Max and affiliates each delivered about half the revenue at almost the same return.
In five months, Swiss Arabian went from no TikTok presence to a US TikTok Shop channel that paid back more than four times what was spent on it.
- $449,552 total revenue from a standing start
- 4.49x overall campaign ROI
- GMV Max: $229,349 at 4.50x ROI
- Creator affiliates: $220,203 at 4.48x ROI
- 89% of traffic from the For You Page
- 650,000+ post views, 3,615 followers and 5,783 profile views on a brand-new account
TikTok For Business published these results as its own official case study.
