The Time... Anthology

Entered in Comedy Video, Vertical Video, Video Series

Objective

I’m an actress, writer, director and producer, and I built a community of over 2.5M followers telling stories about Italian culture, family, and the chaos of being an Italian in America. I wanted to take that further. So I created The Time..., a comedy anthology where every episode is a brand new story with brand new characters.

One week I’m a mob boss. The next I’m the Mona Lisa. The audience never knows who I’ll be next, and that’s the hook.

Every episode is shot open gate, so it’s framed natively for both vertical and horizontal. It looks cinematic on YouTube and feels native on Instagram.

My goals were clear:

  1. Prove that character comedy with a cinematic look can thrive on social platforms.
  2. Build a series that brings people back to see who I’ll be next.
  3. Make my audience part of the show. They comment their own stories, request characters, and tell me which episode should have. a part 2. I read everything and build new episodes from it.
  4. Grow The Time... from a digital series into a show for a major streaming platform.

Strategy

My personal channels are fast and frequent. I write a new batch of scripts every week and shoot most of them myself with a phone, one friend and props I already own. That keeps me posting consistently across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook and Threads.

The Time... is the opposite: fewer episodes, bigger production. I am the creator, co-writer, co-director, executive producer, producer and star. My personal channels point viewers to the series, which has its own Instagram account and YouTube show page so new fans can watch the season in order.

Every episode starts with a character. Once I know who I want to be playing, I build the world around her: wardrobe, location, supporting cast, the way she talks. Then I step behind the camera and direct it while performing in it with the help of my co-director.
In the edit, each episode becomes two finished versions, one for Instagram and one for YouTube, so neither audience ever watches a crop.

Acting and directing the same scene means stepping in and out of character between every take. My acting training is what makes that possible. We shoot open gate so that I can then grab the footage and have it edited both vertically and horizontally.

Most creators play one version of themselves. I play someone completely different every episode, and I’m also the one co-writing, co-directing, producing it and fully funding it.

Results

The industry wasn’t offering me the roles I wanted to play. So I wrote them myself.

I call it my Adam Sandler approach. I create the work, cast myself, and bring my friends along with me. The Time... is the result: ten completely different characters, all written for me, with roles for the talented people around me too.

The Time... has gathered millions and millions of views across YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok/ currently at 5 million views and its October 22nd 2026 as I write this! The series has its own home on Instagram and YouTube, and viewers return for every new drop to see who I’ll be next. The comments are full of character requests, episode ideas and people asking for a part 2. That feedback is already shaping what comes next, with many requesting it to be a Netflix series.

But the biggest success is simple. I stopped waiting for permission. I created the roles I wasn’t being offered, cast the people I believe in, and funded my dreams.
