Thom is a vertical video, webseries, and microbudget video pioneer. He helped usher in the original online video revolution with the launch of the web’s first full-length sitcom, the seminal hipster comedy The Burg; he created, wrote and produced The All-For-Nots with Michael Eisner and Mark Cuban), All's Faire, and Greg & Donny (IFC). Thom served as Head of Content for early vertical video app Rizzle until 2022; since then he was written and produced 12+ microdramas for platforms like Sereal+/FlareFlow, Shortical, AniShort, and iReelTV. While serving as the Executive Creative Director at CollegeHumor, he managed the first narrative project with TikTok (then Musically). Among his mobile credits are inventing the story system of (and writing hundreds of episodes for) the highly popular Episode Interactive storytelling platform,and writing the video game James Bond: World of Espionage. Thom also has an advertising and branded content background, having worked at dozens of agencies and created and written hundreds of campaigns, including the Dos Equis Most Interesting Man in the World commercials. For his screenwriting and webseries work he has been nominated for the Writer's Guild, Webby and Streamy awards, and has been named an Emerging Storyteller at the IFP. Thom was a founding member of the International Academy of Web Television, taught at the School of Visual Arts and Miami Ad School, developed the New Media program at the New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts, and has written and addressed Congress on the subject of internet neutrality.
