The Official Jinx Podcast takes listeners behind the scenes of the HBO documentary series directed by Andrew Jarecki that became a real-life murder investigation. Hosted by Jarecki’s Jinx filmmaking partner, executive producer Zac Stuart-Pontier, the show guides listeners through never-before-aired conversations with Robert Durst and other key players in the series, with many new surprises and revelations along the way. Through the podcast, we were able to engage audiences off of Max, while diving deeper into an infamous true crime story.
The success of The Jinx Part 1 led the team to do a lookback podcast series ahead of the Jinx: Part 2 release. We wanted to recap the important moments from Part 1 and help new and old fans get up to speed on what happened. On the podcast, Host Zac Stuart-Pontier was able to share behind the scenes conversations and insights. Then, when The Jinx Part 2 aired on Max he unpacked each episode on the podcast.
The Official Jinx Podcast saw immense success across a variety of platforms. The show consistently charted on Apple and Spotify’s Top US Charts and True Crime charts. It was also featured across different podcast platforms. The show garnered over 20 press hits across several media outlets like Hollywood Reporter, People and Entertainment Weekly. Esquire and Cosmopolitan listed The Official Jinx podcast on the list of Best True Crime podcasts so far this year. The podcast was also shortlisted at the CLIO Awards and won a Signal Award.
