Alix McAlpine has spent her career shaping creative work that fuels the growth of media companies. She has built and scaled teams, launched new products, and overseen the development of hundreds of branded campaigns and organic content collections. As VP of Advertising and Client Solutions at GIPHY, Alix leads the advertising department, overseeing everything from go-to-market strategy and product offerings to proposal creation and creative asset production. Previously, as VP of Creative Strategy, she guided the development of GIPHY's original content, launched a Creator community, and partnered with directors and performers to expand the brand's creative voice. Her creative strategy work earned her a spot on AdWeek's Creative 100. Earlier in her career, Alix served as BuzzFeed's Head of International Creative, building and managing teams that produced branded content across seven territories. The daily brainstorms and content creation she oversaw gave her a deep understanding of what resonates with both brands and audiences, a strategic intuition she has applied as a judge for the Shorty Awards since 2020. Outside of work, Alix is known for creating the early viral UGC site Sorry, Mom and the dating podcast Swipe Out.
