About the Journey, the podcast from Marriott Bonvoy Traveler, released its third season, focusing on stories of transformative travel, with a hyper-local lens showcasing lesser-known communities and neighborhoods within major cities.   

The goals of this program are to create a deeper understanding of destinations through stories of local communities, as well as grow the audience for the podcast, measured by followers and downloads.

Increase podcast downloads and/or followers by 5%

Strategy and Execution

Listeners join our host, Oneika Raymond, as she explores neighborhoods such as the British-Nigerian hub of Peckham, London, with a local author; finds an unexpected running scene in Washington Heights, New York City, alongside the founder of We Run Uptown; and dances to the music in Little River, Miami with a local creative visionary. 

Season 3 inspires listeners to stay, explore and discover the unexpected with Marriott Bonvoy’s 31+ hotel brands and over 8000 hotels in cities around the world.

Downloads:
According to data from Simplecast, 30-day downloads of podcast episodes 1 through 5 of Season 3 (plus the season 3 trailer) of About the Journey increased 260% over Season 2 episodes 1 through 6 (plus the season 2 trailer). 

Total listening time grew 332% YoY.

Followers:
Combined Apple and Spotify Podcast Followers saw a 20% increase from Season 2.

Since the start of Season 3, Apple Podcast followers saw a 43% increase over Season 2.
 

 

 

Downloads:
30-day downloads of podcast episodes 1 through 5 of About the Journey Season 3 increased 110% over Season 2 episodes 1 through 6, according to data from Simplecast.  

Followers:
Between June 22nd, 2023, and August 29th, 2023, Apple and Spotify Podcast followers rose 18%  

Since the start of S3, Apple Podcast followers saw a 43% increase over Season 2.
