The Negotiators is a podcast focused on the unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes to solve some of the world's thorniest problems. From negotiating nuclear arms deals to getting political prisoners released from prison, meet the negotiators finally getting the recognition they deserve.
Each episode takes listeners inside a particular negotiation. We hear dramatic details from behind closed-door meetings. Our production team, led by senior Laura Rosbrow-Telem, is a mix of men and women with a variety of different racial and religious backgrounds. Women and men are equally represented among the negotiators featured in our episodes, and at least 50% of the interviewees are BIPOC or people of color. Our host, Jenn Williams, is a Muslim woman who brings to the show a deep understanding of the MENA region. And the collaboration between Foreign Policy and Doha Debates—media organizations that cover issues around the world—helps us explore a broad range of topics sensitively and expertly.
The podcast has listeners in 195+ countries and has been downloaded 281k+ times. Our season 2 episodes ran on public radio's World Affairs and Snap Judgment. And Apple Podcasts recommended season 2 as its top pick in the "New Seasons" category.
