Al Jazeera English's YouTube channel had a banner year in 2022, exceeding objectives, expanding viewer reach and engagement and hitting a milestone that few have been able to emulate : the 10M subscriber mark, a distinction held by only the top influencers and a small handful of news organizations.

Out of 51M global YouTube channels, Al Jazeera English is one of only 600, across all genres and focus areas, that have earned 10M loyal subscribers.

Strategy and Execution

We have remained steadfast in our commitment to providing high-quality news coverage, whilst finding new ways to put forward our rapidly growing digital content, growing our subscriber base by leaps and bounds.

We’ve done this by creating diverse content that resonates with global viewers. One of our key strategies has been to promote AJEnglish YouTube’s content across other social media platforms, building stronger connections with current and future followers, and expanding our reach.

By complying with copyright laws and using high-quality, royalty-free music and images in our published work, we’ve successfully avoided copyright conflicts of interest. We’ve also collaborated with a diversity of creators to produce unique and engaging content to keep viewers informed and engaged.

As the channel looks to the future, we remain committed to innovation, opening the way to new and diverse content, and collaborating with creators so we may expand our base of loyal followers and continue our mission as a reliable source of news and information.
