R7 Portal has completed 10 years and to celebrate it, we made a project for a new design and layout. To do this improvement, we had to identify and develop a product that could be easy usefull for all audiences and improve some issues of the teams involved in the operation (journalists).
Our team made a long research process using the Double Diamond methodology to get to know our audience, discover the problems to be solved, identify solutions and develop improvements for content's delivery.
We collected data from our audience on Facebook, Tail Target, Google and ComScore. We used Card Sorting's methodology to understand the users perceptions. We worked on the data we collected to think a new design for the website. We conducted some POCs throughout the process to assess the impact on users and their impressions.
The structure developed made it possible to update news quickly, with greater dynamics among the content displayed. In addition, the mobile format is now similar to the desktop format, grid formats are equivalent to the relevance of the news and it's now possible to group the content of in a way which the news relates to each other, giving greater relevance to the content and bringing it closer to the user.
