PETA partnered with five inspiring athletes, authors, actors, entrepreneurs, chefs, and creators for a filmed roundtable discussion exploring the realities of vegan living. Through honest, funny, and heartfelt conversations, the panel shared what inspired them to cut animals out of their diet and how their values have shaped their relationships, families, and dating lives. Featuring John Lewis, Torre Washington, Gabrielle Reyes, Sunni Speaks, and Ella Magers, the discussion highlighted both the challenges and rewards of living compassionately in everyday life.
The project aimed to help everyday people hear from diverse voices and real-life experiences to inspire them to help animals in their own lives. We wanted viewers to hear meaningful dialogue, learn from folks who have been plant-based for a while and are navigating various scenarios, and challenge their own stereotypes surrounding veganism. Through authentic conversations about relationships, family, dating, and personal values, vegan life should be presented as relatable, fulfilling, and accessible.
The roundtable featured six videos: “Vegan Lightbulb Moment,” “Mushroom Era,” “Online Trolls,” “Do Vegans Make Better Lovers?,” “The Carnivore Diet,” and “Make The Connection.” The project generated more than 1.4 million views, with 66.9% of viewers coming from non-followers.
