Through tweets, Facebook posts, videos, blogs, and Instagram photos, these people have gained fame through their scientific discoveries. What’s more, they’re using social media to spread their intellectual wealth to the masses. Nominate your favorite for #Science.

This category will have 7 finalists. These include 3 with the most nominations from the public, 3 chosen by the Shorty Awards Nominating Board made up of professional journalists from around the world, and 1 Wildcard Finalist. See our rules page for more info.
