About Ian McLaughlin

With his mantra of “I’m a brain scientist, ask me anything,” neuroscience PhD student Ian McLaughlin loves to chat about the brain and society. With studies focused on anxiety and addiction, Ian uses Periscope as an online forum to connect with his 40K+ @_Anthropoid community members, engaging in live stream discourse and Q&A scopes. He responds to fan curiosities and concerns, from questions about Alzheimer's onset to various drugs’ impacts on the brain. Coordinating efforts on his Wired to be Weird podcast and Twitter #Periscope shares, Ian makes science fun and accessible, posing: “I’m a brain scientist, have a drink & test out some new periscope toys with me.”
