The Shorty Social Good Awards honor groundbreaking corporate social responsibility and sustainability campaigns that organizational and marketing teams have worked so hard to realize. While the Shorty Awards have long-honored the best of social media, this competition includes efforts made by organizations to improve sustainability and diversity internally, foster globally-minded business partnerships and increase employee community and civic engagement.

About Self Aware ROOMBA

From Jim Vorel, The Herald-Review, January 29, 2013: “There are a lot of funny novelty Twitter handles out there, but few that combine snarky jokes with a deeper level of pathos. And this is understandable, because making something both funny and poignant at the same time isn’t easy. It’s a narrow balancing act that @SelfAwareROOMBA somehow makes look easy. The handle, which was created back in June, follows the life and times of a robotic Roomba-brand self-roving vacuum cleaner that somehow has become sentient. Posts consist of the Roomba’s confusion and innocent naivety with its surroundings and human owners, its hopes, dreams and romances, and yes, its crippling depression. This all makes for a profile that is very funny but also surprisingly emotional."
