Established in 1947 as the School of Public Relations, the Boston University College of Communication (COM) now offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Emerging Media Studies, Media Ventures, Journalism, Film and TV, and Mass Communication (Advertising, Public Relations, Comm. Studies).
Located in the heart of Boston, COM continually strives to educate and engage with our students across all media. They are the innovators, influencers, storytellers, and investigators who continue to re-write the digital age, while defining their own narrative.
What's the wildest experience you've had via social media?
Our #bathroomaggeddon live tweet session when one of our advisors got accidentally locked in the staff bathroom was pretty hilarious!
How much time you spend online?
A ridiculous amount is a time measurement, right?
What is the weirdest or most inappropriate place you've ever made a social media post from?
I don't feel comfortable answering that :)
Which family member do you wish was on Facebook? Which do you wish wasn't on Facebook?
Grams and Grams. It's awesome and scary all at the same time.
How do you or your organization use social media? What makes your use unique?
Using their wit, character and charm - a direct reflection of their student, faculty, staff and alumni populations, @comugrad uses it's social media presence to keep a tight knit COMmunity informed. Usually by injecting humor, banana costumes or other ridiculous props into their social engagements. Through a variety of channels, the student-centric team is dedicated to sharing their stories with current, past and future stakeholders. The #myCOM campaign (with the cornerstone #COMinaDay video) has cemented them as a contender in the shorty award voting.
