I love remote or IRL tweetups, where I can tweet about an ongoing event or webstream, preferably using a good hashtag.
What are six things you could never do without?
Travel the world, learning new things, meaningful people to be with, a purposeful life, my children, good memories
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I have a few professional accounts that I use to inform followers of new products, services, events and industry developments.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Tweetdeck on my PC and the 'normal' Twitter apps on iPhone and iPad.
Twitter or Facebook?
Twitter is my weapon of choice. But Facebook is great for event- or specific subject-related chatter and photo sharing.

I like tweeps that are clearly spoofs, but in a respectful and funny way, like our

What feature should Twitter add?
Ability to search ALL Twitter history, instead of only a few days.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
I definitely want to see Russian cosmonauts on Twitter. There aren't any at this moment.

Anyone is free to follow anyone. Twitter is not about being followed. It is about having meaningful communication with interesting people.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Yes. Mainly because they were not who I thought they were. Dead accounts, spam accounts, false impersonations, etc.

I am doing my best to become a leading space ambassador and be an example of Space Public Outreach via social media.

Any terms that are positive, future-focused, fun and meaningful. And obviously anything space-related :-)

Connections with people 'inside' the space and tourism industries, for sure.

How do you make your tweets unique?
I always think before I tweet, making sure my tweets are meaningful. But I never think too long. If in doubt, tweet!
What inspires you to tweet?
I have an endless desire to learn. So I learn and share what I have learned, so I can learn from replies and debate.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yes, frequently, but only by people that are not on Twitter themselves.

Start reading and replying before you start sending. Replying and retweeting get you quality followers. Sending doesn't.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Oh, at least an hour ;-). I would call myself addicted, although when forced to be off Twitter I can be without for weeks.

It will become more intuitive, more personal, less dependent on devices and even easier to use.

Definitely @NASA. Through conscious good management of social media they are now leading Twitter and Facebook users.

That it is a medium for useless chit chat, that consumes a lot of valuable time.

I provide a balanced view of global space exploration developments. I try to be unbiased, positive and open for debate.

I love the space agency accounts that tweet in a very personal, yet professional way, e.g. @

ESA etc.
How do you decide what to tweet?
I am an informer, feeling obliged to inform my followers of all things that make space exploration exciting and interesting.
Why'd you start tweeting?
It is a great way to meet a global audience of likeminded people and worldwide industry leaders, enourmously expanding my network.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Most definitely. It has opened doors for me in the space and tourism industries, and brought me in contact with a new global crowd.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Share meaningful information, aiming at making the world better informed, more understanding and a better place to live together.
How will the world change in the next year?
2012 will be the year of social media. I hope people will care less about the so-called financial crisis and more about each other.

1. Mention or DM-spam. 2. Insults and offensive language. 3. Intentional 'funny' replies to a serious question. 4. One word tweets.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
It will be nothing like we know it today. Exciting times are here to come!
