What's your best tweet?
"Vaccination Saves Lives: Media coverage http://fb.me/YVBkE... About the recent Woodford Folk Festival flyover.
What are six things you could never do without?
1. Vaccines; 2. Healthy Kids; 3. Healthy Parents; 4. Safe Schools; 5. Safe Playgrounds; 6. Our Members.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
For our campaign, it is an invaluable way to increase our reach and communicate with members and the public.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Twitter or Facebook?
Both. Our accounts are linked and I think they are important extensions of each other.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
#WoodfordFF tied in with #StopAVN after we hired a plane to fly over towing a banner as Meryl Dorey was speaking.
What feature should Twitter add?
Text messages. Straight to phones.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
All of them. I'm a bit of a hard-case when it comes to grammar.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
I would like major media organisations to follow me as it is important that the AVN is publicly exposed for the menace they are.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
The AVN (@nocompulsoryvac) as they spread bogus misinformation and are a danger to public health.
Why should we vote for you?
Vaccines save lives. The AVN promotes dangerous anti-vaccination propaganda and we are out to stop them.
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Definitely Phil Plait, the Bad Astronomer.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
How do you make your tweets unique?
For us, it's not about being unique, it's about being genuine.
What inspires you to tweet?
The desire to reach as many people as possible to alert them to the dangers of not vaccinating.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Follow the people and groups you love, consider important and don't waste a tweet. You can effect change.
How long can you go without a tweet?
I don't really like to go more than 48 hours, but it entirely depends on content.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
Hmmm... How about: "Why are there people in the world who believe nonsense?" Note: I would have no answer.
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
I think it will continue to evolve and become more integral to the way people communicate.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
That's a difficult one. There are many personalities in the sceptical community who are very good at what they do.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
Stop the AVN doesn't really follow people.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it's only a service for people to post facile thoughts with no depth or meaning. The reality is the exact opposite.
Why should people follow you?
People need to know that the anti-vaccination movement lies and those lies cost lives. They can do something about that.
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
How do you decide what to tweet?
If there is an important link, or an important story, it is posted on our facebook page by an admin and tweets automatically.
Why'd you start tweeting?
To increase the reach of this campaign and to allow people to access information more easily.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
It has made disseminating information and resources much easier and allows us to communicate much more effectively.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Take groups, such as the Australian (anti-)Vaccination Network to task for their lies, propaganda and scaremongering.
How will the world change in the next year?
Hopefully there will be one less anti-vaccinationist lobby group poisoning the minds of parents, exposing children to the risk of disease.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Retweeting a direct message is a bad one, or replying to a direct message on the normal feed. Big no-no.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Hopefully the anti-vax movement worldwide will have been put down and exposed for the dangerous liars they are.
