What's your best tweet?
We have a lot of great ones, so it’s hard to say, but by far our most important one to date was
http://twitter.com... saying simply “Helping Children Understand Natural Disasters
http://bit.ly/8OhZ... That link takes us to a post on our Facebook Page which gives parents of children ages zero to six some tips and advice on how to address the images these children are certainly seeing because of the disaster in Haiti.
What are six things you could never do without?
How about one: hope. Sesame Workshop – the nonprofit behind Sesame Street and a whole lot more – is dedicated toward making a meaningful difference in the lives of children worldwide by addressing their critical developmental needs. We strive to give children a better life than they would have had otherwise.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
Like other forms of media, we use Twitter to entertain – and educate.
Twitter or Facebook?
Both. We want to reach children – through their parents, in this case – anywhere and everywhere.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Why should we vote for you?
We think our tweets – and our 40 years of improving the lives of children – speak for themselves.
How do you make your tweets unique?
We’re the only Twitter feed featuring Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Elmo, and Grover – and more to come :)
What inspires you to tweet?
Reading all the retweets of our tweets and the replies to @sesamestreet. The love is overwhelming.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
The opposite, if anything!
How long can you go without a tweet?
Longer than Cookie Monster can go without devouring that cookie next to him, for sure, but not much!
Why'd you start tweeting?
To celebrate our 40th anniversary!
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
How will the world change in the next year?
Our new version of The Electric Company will help us continue to bridge the literacy gap in the United States.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Here’s a prediction: Sesame Street will be celebrating its 50th (wow!) anniversary.
