The Shorty Interview
with Reduced Shakespeare

What's your best tweet?
Brevity is the soul of Twit!
What are six things you could never do without?
Wife. Kids. (That's 3.) Internet. iPhone. Our lovely audiences and fans!!
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
WeTweet re: our podcasts/shows, etc., and spread the love about theatre/artists/comedians we love/admire/want to kill cuz they're so awesome.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Twitter or Facebook?
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
#characteractorrockbands
What feature should Twitter add?
The ability to tweet songs.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
People & Institution names.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
Nope (Stephen Fry). I only want people to Follow me because they want to, not because (Simon Pegg) I begged.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Too much mindless tweeting or uninformed opinionizing.
Why should we vote for you?
Because we've been producers of reduced real-time content for years. Who else should win a Shorty Award than a REDUCED Shakespeare Company?!
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
The many theaters we've played (or hope to play) around the world.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
How do you make your tweets unique?
They're unique by definition. Nobody else tweets like us.
What inspires you to tweet?
Other twits. Random absurdities. Anything that gets to the reductive gist of a topic.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Only by Facebook poops (my tweets also update my status).
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Be honest and positive. Don't be snarky. Follow Golden Rule: Tweet unto others as you'd have others Tweet unto you.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Depends on how busy we're pretending to be.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
How 'bout coming up here and accepting this Shorty Award?
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
I imagine (and hope!) Twitter will improve its search capabilities and its online archive of memorable memes.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Stephen Fry for his funny learned geeky advocacy.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
Recently, I'd have to say it's a tie between @JohnFugelsang and @SarahThyre.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
Why should people follow you?
Because Reduced Shakespeare Company has been producing short real-time content for years. We were made for Twitter (and vice-versa)!
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
@Simon Pegg. @HESherman. @shakespearegeek. @SteveMartinToGo. @CoryBooker.
How do you decide what to tweet?
We tweet to contribute to a conversation, or a bit of new information, or an old joke recycled in a new way. We're very green.
Why'd you start tweeting?
We wanted to start a Reduced Blog. Twitter was (and remains) the absolutely perfect solution.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yep! It's given me a fantastic new procrastination tool, and intro'd me to many new professional contacts and personal friends.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
How will the world change in the next year?
There will be both economic growth and global warming reduction, thx to recycled jokes in our new show Complete World of Sports (abridged).
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Douchebaggery. Twitter seems to be a haven for pedants and scolds. Lighten up!
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Perfect. Steve Jobs will have invented the iCar. It'll run on salt water and he'll rule the world.
