How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I Tweet out updates regarding my work. I like to let people in on the process, when I can.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Itsy. It allows you to keep Twitter open on your desktop without it taking up the whole screen.
Twitter or Facebook?
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
I loved when people started wearing nothing but their underwear on the subway. Concepts of both privacy and body image were "exposed."
What feature should Twitter add?
The ability to shoot a short video reaction to things.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Dead: Einstein. Alive: my sister.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
I only use a few shortened words. Otherwise I feel like I am murdering the english language.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
If Michelle Obama followed my tweets I would pass out.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Yes. Can't say who, but they became very intrusive.
Why should we vote for you?
Because I have been devoted to connecting with you my whole life, one way or another.

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
I met the writer Tomas Urrea. He wrote "The Humingbird's Daughter" and "The Queen of America." I've read all his stuff and he watched AMC.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
#pullyourselftogether2013. It basically suggests the varying ways one might get ones proverbial shit together this year.
How do you make your tweets unique?
I like to use photos a lot. I think a short pithy sentence with a picture is more compelling.
What inspires you to tweet?
I like the opportunity to connect with people I might not have ever had to chance to meet otherwise.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Oddly enough, no.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Be very cautious when looking for internet porn. Two clicks and you might see something that will make you never want to have sex again.
How long can you go without a tweet?
24 hours max.

I think it will someday have more videos, and/or be far more visual.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Ricky Gervais really manages fame and other's expectations of him very cannily.

Martha Plimpton. I love her honest reactions to things.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it's all ad's and BS.
Why should people follow you?
Because I am a humanist: I think the internet is here to help us connect to one another and help each other create our dreams.
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
I like @MOM. She is always there when I need a dose of guilt, shame, or self doubt.
How do you decide what to tweet?
I think about what might make me feel good to see or read.
How do you use social media to motivate yourself or others to live a healthier life?
Sometimes I do "beauty of the day," which is a shot of something I've seen, or of myself working out. I also auto tweet Operation Safe.
How has social media helped bring your family closer together and #keepgoodgoing?
We have done an interview for a podcast that reached out to me through twitter. On the PC, we talked about gun control. It was amazing.
Why'd you start tweeting?
To share something about my experiences with others in a silly way.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
I've definitely been taken on internet searches that I might never had gone on, plus it's helped me realize how much we are all alike.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Say "I love you."
How will the world change in the next year?
This year will be a boom on internet series, films, shopping, and interactivity. The consumer will be both driving and creating product.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Swearing profusely or being extremely disgusting, racist, or sexist. Really not cool, sexy, or interesting to me.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
A little better. Not much, but a little.
