Different platforms for different audiences... FB for the traditional undergrads, Twitter for the adult students, alumni & friends.

I would say our president @DrPamelaDavies, but she started one so she could vote in the @ShortyAwards!
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Queens University of Charlotte, "intellectual and cultural fabric," "traditional undergraduates."
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Spammers. You can tell someone isn't legit by the content they put out.
Why should we vote for you?
We're a small school doing big things in #socialmedia, like setting trends and educating the community RE: digital strategy.

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Meeting nonprofits around the Charlotte area. We've developed great partnerships as a result!
How do you make your tweets unique?
We stay authentic. We're not trying to be anyone but Queens -- and we love being Queens!
What inspires you to tweet?
Our Queens Royals. We love interacting with them and learning about what interests them the most.

Don't be overwhelmed - you'll become an addict before you know it!
How long can you go without a tweet?
Four seconds.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Anyone who uses it in a positive way to improve the lives of others.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
Some of our students have an awesome sense of humor! Hard to name just one.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
"It's a waste of time!" Not at all.
Why should people follow you?
We're proponents of two-way dialogue. If you want a school that engages you and cares about you, talk to Queens.

How do you decide what to tweet?
We share what's most relevant/interesting to our Queens community, whether that's university news or fun activities happening around campus.
Why'd you start tweeting?
We wanted to stay connected with our Queens community, near and far.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes! We love having an instant connection with Royals past and present. Definitely wouldn't be possible without #Twitter.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Reply/RT. Too many folks push out info without acknowledging their followers. We like to talk with ours so they know we're listening.
How will the world change in the next year?
More people will be digital natives. Twitter has already exploded in ways most of us never imagined... A year from now? Wow.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Misspellings... RTing everything, even posts w/ factual errors... Not conversing with your followers.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
