What are six things you could never do without?

How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
If I am at a conference or other event I tend to tweet about that but I use Twitter less professionally more for personal and community use
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Boringly I use the stock Twitter apps on Android, Mac and iPad
Twitter or Facebook?
What feature should Twitter add?
It's strength is in not having too many features and being simple so I would say nothing
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Mark Bee, Leader of Suffolk County Council and the rest of the Cabinet. Colin Noble is the only cabinet member on Twitter
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Only spammers. Several people have unfollowed me though!
Why should we vote for you?
I blog about local issues and their national context to try and make my local community a better place to live
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Has to be @schoolduggery and others I have met locally who are involved in education in Suffolk
How do you make your tweets unique?
Well I am unique and so are my opinions :-)
What inspires you to tweet?
A desire to communicate and engage with other people. To get my view across and to learn from other people's views
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
It has been mentioned to me a few times at work although I don't tweet much when I am actually at work
140 characters of advice for a new user?
It's not Facebook. Twitter is to talk to people you haven't yet met not just your existing real word and Facebook friends
How long can you go without a tweet?
I sometimes tweet a lot, sometimes not for days it just depends on my mood and what is going on
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
Hopefully not that much, it's pretty good already
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
I really admire @SchoolDuggery as she keeps so up to date with education when I don't have the time to. Really useful.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That people tweet rubbish like "I am eating my lunch" that's Facebook :-)
Why should people follow you?
If they are interested in local issues in Suffolk, education and/or technology I think I have interesting things to say and share
How do you decide what to tweet?
If it interests me and I think will interest one or more other people
Why'd you start tweeting?
Curiosity. My wife was using it but I couldn't see the benefits to start with
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
It has allowed me to engage with lots of people who I would never have had the opportunity to so yes
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Change their opinions after listening to other people
How will the world change in the next year?
What interests me is how people respond to the current adversity, do we pull together or retreat into extremism? I honestly don't know.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Spamming, abusing other people, boring "I'm on the train" tweets
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
My aspiration is that we will share the world's resources more fairly and sustainably and be happier. It scares me the opposite might happen
