The Shorty Interview
with Trisha
What are six things you could never do without?
husband, kids, iphone, twitter, coffee, red vine licorice
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I follow a lot of educators and have given and gotten advice about classroom management and lessons, etc
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Hootsuite for iPhone, Tweetdeck for laptop
Twitter or Facebook?
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Yes. I'd rather not say who, but because either they started ignoring me, or they only posted links and no actual content
How do you make your tweets unique?
I tweet about funny things my kids say or about my life in general. Tweet lots of pics, too
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Don't try too hard. Be yourself and don't be *that* guy (i.e. no robo dm's to new followers). Be authentic
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Kind of biased, but my husband @BrianNeudorff aka @MASCAR_WXMAN. He's done a phenomenal job of networking!
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
It's meaningless chatter among people who don't know each other for the benefit of no one and offers no meaningful content
Why'd you start tweeting?
my husband wanted a way to communicate with me while he was at work and I was at home
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Respond to people who are asking them legitimate questions.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Only posting links; retweeting everyone but adding no original content of your own; not having real conversations with followers
