I tweet blog posts, make announcements about my speaking engagements, and network with other educators.

I absolutely do not follow trending topics. They frequently disappoint or embarrass me. Tasteless, ghettoized opportunistic sinkholes.
What feature should Twitter add?
A "TweetPause" setting, so you can pause people who are rampaging or twittering about a TV show for 2 hours straight.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Can't think of anyone. If you've heard of twitter and DON'T already have a feed, I'm probably not much interested in what you have to say.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
"you" "to" "are" and all associated webspeaks. Unless you are Prince himself, don't fuck with that shit.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
I can't think of anyone, really. If someone doesn't follow me, I probably am already losing interest in following them.

I have unfollowed almost every "Celebrity" I 've followed. I don't want canned BS. I don't give a shit what your PR flack has to say.

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Being able to meet and become friends with @KateBornstein, who I've admired for decades, is a standout blessing.

How do you make your tweets unique?
By remaining uncensored. I don't stand on ceremony, I don't believe in TMI, and I don't edit who I am.
What inspires you to tweet?
Getting at least some of the maelstrom in my head & heart out, so that others can help me process it, and share their own storm-tossed tales.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yep. And I told them to go unfuck themselves.

Do it your way, don't show off or be a douchebag. Follow only people with whom you wish to interact. Be HONEST.
How long can you go without a tweet?
I stopped Tweeting entirely last year on April Fool's Day. I sometimes take a day off, but that is deliberate. Typically, an hour or so.

What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it is a useless time-wasting social medial sinkhole / ego wank-fest. Ii is not. I have dear RT friends today I met via Twitter!

I've only one rule: no tweeting about pooping *WHILE* POOPING. I set this rule because my friend @OrangePlus will mock me mercilessly if I do

Because I thought it was lame and I'd be tire of it quickly. I sought fodder for mocking. Who's laughing now?

I have made friends, survived emergencies, furthered my career, found solace and love and stayed sober with Twitter's help.

Share their personal lives, their feelings and their silly thoughts.

I think the global shrinkage will take yet another turn for the weird this year.

Shit talking about someone who you know can see your Tweet. I hate the passive aggressive bullshit.
