The Shorty Interview
with Local In Season

What's your best tweet?
Our site: http://www.localin... is now LIVE! More articles to come, but we are off the ground! Please help us spread the word. Thx.
What are six things you could never do without?
Family. Friends. Salt. Butter. Wine. Garlic. In no particular order...
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
Twitter is responsible for over 50% of our website's fan base...we couldn't do it without you!
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Twitter or Facebook?
Twitter. Hands down.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
What feature should Twitter add?
Voice directly on Twitter so that you can record on the spot.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Ana Sortun. She rocks.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Are you. Oh my god. See you.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
Chris Cosentino @offalchris He is an amazing chef.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
We have unfolloweed a number of spammers. Thankfully, we haven't had to unfollow any people who legitimately arrived at our site.
Why should we vote for you?
We celebrate and honor local foods, the people that work so hard to grow + use them, + help others bring them into their kitchens.
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
We have found all of our contributing writers here!
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
#follow@localinseasonallweeknotjustonfriday
How do you make your tweets unique?
We post a lot of recipes, so usually the food and chefs do it for us. Unique foods+flavor combinations+chefs = unique tweets.
What inspires you to tweet?
Good food. Whether I create it or read about it, I feel compelled to spread the word!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Not yet...we try to keep it under control. We do get a little over-excited every now and again.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Only tweet what you would like to read yourself. Think "Golden Rule 2.0".
How long can you go without a tweet?
Writing one? An hour or so. Reading new tweets? About a minute and a half.
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
I don't envision change as much as longevity. Twitter is here to stay.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Go figure, the number one spot...@Rick_Bayless ProliLIFic tweets!
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it serves no "real purpose." Twitter is way more powerful than many give credit. It has been the KEY to our site's success.
How do you decide what to tweet?
After about a year and a half, I think I have a pretty good gauge of what our followers want to hear...and THAT is what I tweet.
Why'd you start tweeting?
Twitter has helped us promote our site http://www.localin... and has connected us with the world's food experts.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes...Twitter has played a big role in making our website as popular as it is. What was once just an idea is now a site viewed worldwide.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
How will the world change in the next year?
This is a wake-up year. Sustainability as an imperative is finally seeming to come into focus for more and more people.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Long, personal conversations that aren't DM'ed.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Moving at the speed of light and, hopefully, full of people who recognize our collective responsibility to take of each other and our planet.
