What's your best tweet?
Starting 1st job? Save 50% of income b4 piling on debt. Doing so buys you 1 year of freedom 4 every year saved..
Twitter or Facebook?
Twitter. Brevity rocks!
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
#ThingsSaidAfterSex, or something to that effect. Some funny tweets in there (and some slightly disturbing ones, too!)
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Christmas, because Xmas takes "Christ" out of the holiday, and that has happened enough.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
The president, so we could trade some tweets on implementing frugality in government.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Yes, several times. Normally because their only mission was to peddle their product. I want to get to know the person first.
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
debt freedom, saving money, frugal dad rocks
How do you make your tweets unique?
I try to say what's on my mind 90% of the time, and RT great thoughts from other the remaining 10%.
What inspires you to tweet?
The idea that what I say might inspire someone else. Either a quick pick-me-up, or simply making a connection because their day sucks, too!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yes, I'm known for the occasional rant, and have to space out my Tweets a bit when that happens. No one likes a Twitter-holic.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Be authentic. Don't just say what you think everyone wants to hear. People follow you because they want to hear from you.
How long can you go without a tweet?
I've gone days, but try to drop in at least once a day.
Why'd you start tweeting?
To connect with blog readers and network with others in my niche.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Help others. I think there is a lot more opportunity for communities and charities to harness the power of social media for good.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
RT'ing without the @ symbol - drives me nuts! It's like pasting a URL without making it a hyperlink.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Smaller. By that I mean we'll all be more closely connected than we are even now thanks to technology.
