Beatles or Elvis? Both. 4 v. diff reasons. Twit = scrappier, grassroots, instant, evolvg. FB gr8 4 readership numbers...+ my social life.

A pal, @Micah, started #ff / #followfriday. Wasn't funny, but = useful 4 long time. Also turning profile pics green 4 Iran=cool.
What feature should Twitter add?
I wish twitter.com were more like tweetdeck—columns, searches...more like a custom dashboard. It's gettg there.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
I would luv 2 read > tweets from homeless—window in2 their lives, minds. But 4 obvi reason, few tweet.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?

I've unfollowd a few friends who were a little self-involvd: just tweetg re where they were, 3 word replies 2 god knows who or what.

I write em myself. Don't pass em off 2 interns or writers. I keep it real, fun, vital, practical, accessible to myself/others. Wordplay.
What inspires you to tweet?
Good news. Bad news. New ideas. Timeless quotes. My community of virtual compatriots. My many columnists' many articles e/day. Silly videos.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Used to. We're pretty well est'd now, popular. More + more twitter users use tweetdeck or somesuch, makg twitstreams less overwhelmg.

Tweet daily. Use tweetdeck / other interface, not so much twitter.com. RT. Tweet links 2 articles, vids u connect with. Follow intg peeps.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Hypothetically, forever. No problem. I don't need to be connected personally. Professionally, however, it's essential...maybe 3 hours, max!

@Zendirtzendust. Irreverent, witty, vicious / fair-minded—which makes his impact all the more cutting.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it's nerdy/geeky/techy/boring. It's incredibly visceral, accessible, immediate + simple—it's communication.
Why should people follow you?
Bc we're personal v corporate, genuine/edgy v safe, + supportive of others' tweets. Guerrilla social media is where indie media thrives.

@DeepakChopra, @Alyssa_Milano tweet thmslvs—+ frequently. @DerekMarkham = 1 of 1st, best green twits. @ZenDirtZenDust = funny, edgy Buddhism.

I look for what I'm personally interested in that might also be personally interesting / inspiring to others.

I luv Twit's cooperative spirit. Tho we get lotsa RTs (MNN, big green site, named us #2 nat'l green media 4 active followrs), > RTs=merrier.

It will contnu2get faster, smaller, > connectd, polluted, warm—all of which will galvanize, facilitate, re-energize community.

Cheesy marketing bullshiite. Only tweetg re ur business. Autoreplies that read like autoreplies. Not usg it consistently. Nvr RTg.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
