How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
As a source for news; as a way to crowdsource answers to questions & translations of tough foreign text; to communicate with readers
Twitter or Facebook?
Twitter is for business. Facebook is for wasting time. Depends what I feel like doing.
What feature should Twitter add?
A better way to access and search your older tweets, your past stream, *and* your prior mentions.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. And pretty much every other NASAspeak acronym, as far as I can avoid it.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
I unfollow people who suddenly start tweeting several times a day about non-space stuff and who aren't funny.
Why should we vote for you?
Because there is more going on out there in space than ever before, and most people don't know it!
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
Spirit. Opportunity. Cassini. Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Mars Express. Odyssey.
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Mars rover driver @marsroverdriver.
How do you make your tweets unique?
I don't know how unique they are, but I do my best!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yeah, when I get too excited about launches and stuff.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Don't worry about inflating follower numbers. If you're worth following, & if you participate in Twitter conversation, people will follow you
How long can you go without a tweet?
Only until something happens out there in space that has no respect for my own schedule!
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
I admire @MarsPhoenix, who started the trend of Tweeting spacecraft.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
Why should people follow you?
I like to think that my Tweetings keep space geeks informed about space science and mission events from all over the solar system.
Why'd you start tweeting?
Because there's SO much I want to blog about, but don't have time for. Via Twitter I can tell people about everything that's happening!
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Oh, that's easy, Tweeting when you meant to DM. Funny how people's Twitter voices are different when that happens.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
More full of people. And probably hotter.
