The #Journalist Shorty Award

The most popular journalists in the world live and breathe social platforms and must be on Twitter to stay relevant, research stories and share breaking news. These journalists let their audience know real-time answers to real-world questions while speaking in a relevant and honest voice through Facebook, Twitter, Storify and more. Nominate your favorite #Journalist.

Nominees must be verified journalists listed on Muck Rack to be eligible for this category. Votes for other twitter accounts will not be counted. Click here to submit for verification.

Muck Rack is a leading community for journalists on social media. The recently launched Muck Rack Pro helps journalists connect with each other and helps public relations people find journalists, all using data from the social web to make connections more relevant.

The winner will be selected based upon the number of nominations they’ve received, the impact and creativity of their tweets, and the level of innovation in their use of social media as judged by the Shorty Awards Real-Time Academy. Only those who have been verified as a journalist by Muck Rack are eligible for this Award. If you’re a news organization looking for recognition for your use of social media enter the Shorty Industry Award for News here.
