About Carol Rosenberg
Carol Rosenberg, a veteran Middle East correspondent, has been a staff writer with The Miami Herald since her first dispatch from Baghdad on Sept. 1, 1990. The Herald sent her to the Guantanamo Navy base in January 2002, days before the first 20 captives got there. When the Pentagon isn't putting her up in Tent City at Guantanamo's "Camp Justice," she lives in Miami Beach and shuttles to southeast Cuba under military escort from Washington DC, on average once a month.
