What's your best tweet?
Maybe "One club... One day... One question... Coming soon at @barcastuff". Which was the 'teaser tweet' in the build up to our daily quiz.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
What's your favorite Twitter app?
If Tweetdeck - and especially the scheduling part - would work properly 24/7, they would without any doubt be our favourite app.
Twitter or Facebook?
As source for our news feed, Facebook - that has other strong points - has almost no added value. We didn't go there for some months.
What feature should Twitter add?
1 More analysis tools (google analytics for twitter) 2 More flexible limits (tweets + dm) 3 Better search engine 4 Keep Old Twitter forever
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
A better question might be "Who do you wish had a better Twitter feed?" Although the answer then probably wouldn't fit in 140 characters :-)
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
As a general policy, we try to shorten as little as possible. We have followers from all over the world and it can become confusing.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Only people we followed by accident.
Why should we vote for you?
Because these are Twitter awards and we are 100% Twitter (no promotion of an external site or business), we're a Twitter-only news feed.
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Think we have a lot of potentially very interesting connections. Which we might use one day. Although probably not.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
We like to think everyone (even the official FC Barcelona accounts) now uses
#fcblive and not the official original
#FCBlive because of us.
How do you make your tweets unique?
We're a unique news feed because we adapt the stories to Twitter and tweet news in 140 characters. We're not just tweeting links to websites.
What inspires you to tweet?
Bringing FC Barcelona news to the people who don't have access to the local media, without the traditional Madrid filter.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
We'll just say that if our boss knew about all this, we'd be so fired...
140 characters of advice for a new user?
As Barcelona coach Johan Cruyff used to say: Go out there and have fun.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Around 30 minutes. Our normal rhythm is to have 2 "stories" an hour, each story consisting of 1 to 3 tweets.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
You're doing fine, but the members of the jury might have liked it if you'd have started by asking to give a general account description :-)
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
Hopefully not too much. Less is still more. Changes: more advertisement, better integration pics/vids, integration external news content.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it's just a tool to lead more traffic to your site. Media again reacting slow. What Web 1.0 was for paper media, is Web 2.0 for Web 1.0.
Why should people follow you?
There seem to be different reasons for that. Our followers (doubled since January) go from teenage fan girls to respected journalists.
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
For some unclear reason, we don't follow anyone... We want to point out we do interact with our followers (via DM and a reply account).
How do you decide what to tweet?
There should obviously be a link with FC Barcelona. And it shouldn't get boring. Main risk for a news feed is people "mentally" unfollowing.
Why'd you start tweeting?
Because some people said we needed to get on this new thing called Twitter. Only after a year, we started with the current news concept.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
It didn't change our life, but it changed some of our ideas. In many areas: communication, people, cultures, media, technology, gender...
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Give credit. Luckily we're not aware of 99% of people who are copying our tweets. And be creative, not just taking other people's concepts.
How will the world change in the next year?
Let's limit it to the Twitter world: it will be the year of the unfollows, both by clicking unfollow as by "mentally" unfollowing accounts.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
For news accounts: trying to establish an artificial friendship connection with your followers asking for their opinion the whole time.
