My best tweet? The one that can save lives. I remember tweeting about a tornado near Madison, GA before a warning was issued.

I constantly write up posts on EarthSky.org, and I like to post them to inform everyone about the weather around the world.

I love how I can tie my facebook/twitter accounts together to post things fast and accurately!

Hahaha, I love them equally. Honestly, I love twitter more. More connected to people who you don't know. Better source for news.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
The ridiculous hashtags that are highly inappropriate. For instance, "places I've had sex". Really? I mean...really?
What feature should Twitter add?
Twitter should stay simplistic. It would be nice if we could add a extra letters in the tweets. Sometimes hard to list all cities in warnings
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Honestly, I think everyone should have a twitter feed. You don't have to always post thoughts, but following people for news is great!
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
I refuse to shorten cities or county names. I don't want to add confusion to my tweets.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
Yes, plenty. It aggravates me when people want thousands of followers but refuse to follow anyone. If you talk to me, I follow you. Always
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
I never unfollow someone unless they spam twitter with inappropriate material that's offensive and harmful.

I write posts and tweet everyday to provide the latest weather updates for everyone. Most importantly, you learn why it happens.

If weather is being talked about in Georgia, always use #gawx . If it's for Athens, I always use #athensga or even #athensgawx
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Everyone is connected through twitter. I love communicating with my followers and the people I follow. Get to learn so much!

How do you make your tweets unique?
I add humor from time to time and simply use key words so you know what you are about to read. I like to make it simple but to the point!
What inspires you to tweet?
Honestly, James Spann is a huge inspiration. He saves lives, posts great information, and cares about his followers. What I strive for!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
I did when I originally began tweeting back in 2009. However, I only tweet important information.
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
Twitter is all about getting news fast. With twitter, lives can be saved when severe weather strikes. It's all about informing/saving lives
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
I think I just answered that question, but James @Spann does a great job of updating everyone on local conditions, etc.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
@CelticLiberal is hilarious. She just speaks the truth.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
The "i don't want to tell everyone what I'm doing". You don't! Follow legit celebrities/people you trust and get your news from twitter!
Why should people follow you?
I'm very specific with warnings on twitter. I don't only mention counties in warnings. I'll go down to the streets and cities to save people.

Johnny Kelly (@stormchaser4850) posts a lot of great information regarding breaking weather news.
How do you decide what to tweet?
Easy: Accurate weather updates with blog posts explaining the current weather. If severe weather strikes, posting warnings ASAP
Why'd you start tweeting?
I wanted to provide accurate forecasts and instant updates for the Athens, GA area. I want people to be safe and understand what's to come!
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes, twitter has got me where I am today. There are so many companies offering jobs just for social media.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
I love weather pictures. If they see awesome weather, take a picture of it and post it! I'll use them in my posts too!
How will the world change in the next year?
Who knows? What happens in the present can change the future. If the present is successful, then the future can be bright.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Hopefully, we'll still be advancing in science and technology. People will have jobs, and the world be a safer place. I know, I'm dreaming ;)
