Short and sweet. My most memorable tweets are from a tornado outbreak in D/FW, TX. Short and straight to the point.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I use Twitter to share weather information and in return get reports. I often retweet #txwx
reports and photos to other meteorologists.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
I really enjoyed TweetDeck (pre-twitter takeover) for the spell check. My favorite iPhone app is TweetBot.
Twitter or Facebook?
Both platforms have their advantages and disadvantages. I use Twitter for more interaction while I use Facebook to share information.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
The funniest trend that I can remember as of late is going to end up being from the replacement NFL refs.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
I don't focus on followers with large numbers. In my mind, someone with 100 followers is as important as 10,000.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
I've unfollowed individuals who spam my account, post insulting content, or are spambots.
Why should we vote for you?
We dedicate our time to informing the public about upcoming weather. We take the time to answer questions and don't hype events.

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
We've made several connections with emergency management and media. Those are good relationships to have during bad weather!
What inspires you to tweet?
My motivation is to share my passion for weather and during bad weather to inform as many as possible.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
We rarely get complaints about too much tweeting. If we're tweeting a lot, it's because something is going on that necessitates it.

Keep it simple and to the point! Don't spam the world with everything about you, but interact!
How long can you go without a tweet?
How long can Mother Nature go without giving us something to tweet about?

How do you imagine Twitter changing?
Sadly, I imagine Twitter will go down the road of Facebook one day by trying to monetize their product as much as possible.

What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
The biggest misconception is that Twitter is used to get YOUR information and/or products out. Twitter is meant to be a way to INTERACT!
Why should people follow you?
We don't hype weather events just to gain new followers. We tell you the weather story and explain the possible scenarios.
How do you decide what to tweet?
That's a difficult process. Honestly, it's a never ending process. I think about it on a case-by-case basis.
Why'd you start tweeting?
Originally, we started tweeting to share our storm chasing video. Now we tweet to share upcoming weather forecasts.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Absolutely! I spend much of my day replying to questions and sharing information. I got a smart-phone just so I could use Twitter on the go!
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Share real time weather reports and photos that can be used to help the weather warning process. Use state weather hashtags (ex. #txwx #okwx
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Not giving proper RT or information credit, sharing fake weather photos, and definitely trying to spam followers.
