The Shorty Interview
with Chris Luzader
What's your best tweet?
My best tweet is one in which someone learns something. I love to help people, especially with technology; no feeling is better!
What are six things you could never do without?
A Rubik's cube, a plasma ball, a lava lamp, a connection to the Internet, a cup o' joe, and my loyal friends and readers, of course.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I use Twitter to increase my contact list. You never know - you can be e-friends with somebody and they turn out to be CEOs of big companies.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
ChromeDeck (from the fine folks at TweetDeck) - It does everything I need, without having to open another Adobe Air application.
Twitter or Facebook?
Twitter. Facebook is for posting pictures of beach vacations and skimpy self-portraits.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
Justin Bieber. Plain and simple.
What feature should Twitter add?
Allowing Direct Messages to be over 140-characters. This would allow people to send "emails" and in effect stay on Twitter longer.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Anything that will make me look like a crazed Justin Bieber fan.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
No, never. I enjoy reading thousands upon thousands of tweets per second, and thus am the smartest person alive.
Why should we vote for you?
I have no other traditional online presence, unlike the current tech leaders. I got here by Twitter alone. One could say I'm a success story.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
#WhatHaveYouDoneToChangeTheWorldToday?
How do you make your tweets unique?
I register each one with the Library of Congress, then send them out engraved on a golden disc in Voyager spacecrafts.
What inspires you to tweet?
The fact that I, in my chair, can communicate to another person and be put into their home around the world in a millisecond.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Many a person has unfollowed me for precisely this. But it's called "social media" for a reason.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Approximately the amount of time spent sleeping - 3 hours.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
What have you done to change the world today?
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
I image that Twitter will cater to the big organizations more and more as they adopt new media. They had better continue to listen to us all.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
If you use a tweet to spread news and something original/interesting, I admire you.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That Twitter is just meaningless garble. You can do more in 140-characters than you realize.
Why should people follow you?
I mix tech, sarcasm, and unicorn tears to create the best content that's ever been created. Therefore, I scribe my tweets with gold.
How do you decide what to tweet?
I ask my pet narwhal about what I wrote. If he snorts, it's good. If he just sits there, I kick him. He then snorts.
Why'd you start tweeting?
I started tweeting to tell "the people" about what I'm doing. I soon discovered that that's not why people follow you.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Very much so. It allowed me to create an online presence, at little cost to me, aside from having fun and making friends.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Conversate, help others, and spread good vibes.
How will the world change in the next year?
It will get exactly one year older.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Not listening to their users more.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
There will be two sides. One connected to the Internet 24/7. Another rejecting technology as a whole.
