Twitter is on my resume, and I send out science blog posts and articles that are relevant to my profession.

The Twitter iOS app is my favorite - it fast and easy to use.
Twitter or Facebook?
Twitter without a doubt. Twitter people that care about stuff I like. Facebook has people I've known in real life regardless of interests.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
The funniest trend was definitely planking. Even celebrities got in on it.
What feature should Twitter add?
Twitter should allow you to temporarily mute someone if they are ranting about a particular subject you don't necessarily care about.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
White House interns - they could provide a great view on the gov't that we could relate to.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
#ScienceLooksGood since it's my hashtag, and ... well, I don't really shorten anything

Twitter helped me to discover network with several space tweeps and NASA itself, culminating in my attendance at the last shuttle launch

I use #ScienceLooksGood to promote cool science stories across the web.
How do you make your tweets unique?
I keep them concise and funny, then I season with salt and pepper to taste
What inspires you to tweet?
When I either laugh to myself or smack my head in anger at a random observation, I know it will make a good tweet!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
I definitely have, especially during live events. But I can't help it, I get excited! I try to use a hashtag so people can mute.

Reply and retweet often, regardless of someone's follower amount. Thank people.

5 hours. After that, the shakes set in.

I predict more of a reach in political space, culminating in a congressional / presidential debate held entirely on Twitter.

@antheabutler, an academic who uses Twitter to disperse knowledge as well as have fun

@luvvie, especially when she's sharing the dumbest tweets.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
A huge misconception is that you need to be a celebrity get use out of Twitter. The most interesting people are normal folks like you and me!

I present science, sports, and tech in a unique and funny way. I love engaging with people regardless of follower count

If it's something I can express in a concise 100 chars max.
How do you use social media to motivate yourself or others to live a healthier life?
I've found several people to follow that have inspired me to change my dietary and exercise habits - and I feel great!

My brother and I often share conversation on Twitter, especially during live sports. Almost feels like being back at home.

To engage with people about science, sports, and tech

Twitter has forced me to be more concise in my blogging and other writing. Now I can pack more of a punch in less words.

I wish people would avoid trolling others. If you don't like someone, block them or DM them.
How will the world change in the next year?
I expect some key information about Mars to come out of the Curiosity Rover mission and a tablet that can actually replace a laptop.

Spelling errors, spamming, begging for replies / RT without replying / RTing

Fully electric cars, always connected to the net, woman president
