How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
Well, I forecast the weather. Eventually, I hope it becomes my career.

TweetDeck, no further discussion needed.

Both! They have their uses.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
I usually don't follow them honestly...
What feature should Twitter add?
Make it easier to track who follows back, who unfollowed etc. Using 3rd party tools is risky.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
I wish our local Meteorologists participated more. But for now seems more of a job than anything. :(
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
I don't really like to abbreviate forecasts actually. I guess It ends up spamming, but it gets out there!
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
There are a few key players in the field I highly respect. But they have yet to follow back! They know who they are !

Yes, if you're not posting anything other than spam, belittling or radically inaccurate in claims, expect to be unfollowed.

There are many sources out there for wx. My dedication is with your understanding of the process, what is happening and being informed.

I don't really have a preference.
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
I think gaining public support from my followers from around the country. I am just one person. Not a brand, not a group. Its just me!
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
I use a lot of random ones, nothing stands out for the moment. Check back on that one.
How do you make your tweets unique?
You know it is coming from an educated Meteorologist with a degree. This is not a 'job' I just love keeping you informed!
What inspires you to tweet?
I really enjoy communicating with my fans and answering any questions they have about weather. 2-way communication is key!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Of course, the question is - does it matter? They have the "unfollow" button!
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Be yourself. Be passionate. Try to create something unique for your followers. There are many sources give them a reason to follow you.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Days if we're in an uninteresting stagnate pattern. Anytime I can use "persistence forecasting"

Well, there are a few more questions coming. I'll come back to this if needed.
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
I think it has become to the best medium for 2-way communication. Nothing needs to change. Maybe more spam enforcement.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
@wxbrad and @spann They have this social media thing down. And have both saved countless lives as a result. Kudos to both.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
@wxbrad Always posting something social media related, even if it isn't directly about weather.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That we tweet EVERYTHING we do... that is true for some. Trust me you don't see all aspects of my life. Just the weather portion mostly.
Why should people follow you?
Because they will get a different perspective on weather. I refuse to be a part of the group :) You'll learn something along the way!

How do you decide what to tweet?
For twitter. I am usually tweeting whats on my mind. My thought process going into a forecast. Before it goes live on blog/FB Fan Page.
Why'd you start tweeting?
I did it to tell my story to the world for those who want to listen.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
I would say so. I have always been passionate about weather. Twitter gave me the ability to convey that passion.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Explain their forecasts. Its one thing to say something, but do YOU understand what you're saying. Credibility is important.
How will the world change in the next year?
Hopefully the media industry will finally figure out where its going and jobs open up and I end up in one of them!
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
We tweet EVERYTHING that comes to mind. Guilty of that one! Sorry about that!
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Well, if we don't pick up the pace. It won't look much different than what we have now unfortunately.
