with Meg Brown

Meg Brown
Meg Brown needs your nomination for a Shorty Award!
I am a 6th generation cattle producer. My family and I raise natural black angus beef. We are "traditional" and also do some grass-finished. I love to talk about beef, cattle, well pretty much anything about ag! My passion is sharing what a real cattle ranch is like!

How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I connect with other cattle producers all over the world! I have access to information like never before - its a huge tool for me.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
What feature should Twitter add?
I like twitter the way it is! I mean I wouldn't mind more characters because I have a lot to say, but then it wouldn't be twitter.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
YES! Food writers and policy makers! What happens on a farm is a lot different from what they think. I want to bridge that gap.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
Why should we vote for you?
Because it'd be awesome to have one of the 2% that actually produce food for this country win! Send me to New York!
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
connecting with city people and vegetarians. So many have no idea what my life is actually like, how I actually treat my cattle.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
How do you make your tweets unique?
I make my tweets unique by being who I am, talking about what I do, and being true to myself and point of view.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
What inspires you to tweet?
My Ranch, life, animals, education, family. The fact that Ranchers are less than 2% of our population - we need a voice!
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
I haven't been called out per se, I've been unfollowed by most of my real life un-aggie friends since I tweet about ag so much.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
How long can you go without a tweet?
Lol, not very long. Is there a 12 step program for tweeters yet?
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
Why should people follow you?
Because I offer a glimpse into a way of life that is totally different from what you've ever seen.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
Any farmer or rancher. They are the most unique people hands down. They are all different and it is incredible.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
How do you decide what to tweet?
I tweet something if it is educational or funny. If I think I can help someone or something, if I can teach. Or make fun of myself.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
Why'd you start tweeting?
To get my story out there! To let people who would normally never get to see a real cattle ranch - see a ranch.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
I have a social network that reaches across the globe! I can speak to people who have never even seen a real rancher!
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
I wish people would speak up! I feel like some people just lurk on the sidelines sometimes, I'm guilty of it myself.
Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
How will the world change in the next year?
I think Social Media is allowing us to think in a global sense. I have friends in Australia via twitter - my perspective is growing globally
