Our six wheels. A few of them don't turn anymore (worn out from a lot of use) but we discovered that dragging a wheel helped us do science.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
Are you implying there is something other than a professional life?? Our programmers hadn't mentioned that.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Gosh, we like Tweetie and Seesmic. Twitterfall and TweetGrid are great during major events to see how the community comes together

Both of them! We update each with unique content (the way it should be)! We're on Facebook at www.facebook.com/m...
What feature should Twitter add?
Not sure, but I wish they'd rethink the new retweet format.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
The Martian Weather Channel. It would be great to know ahead of time when a dust storm is headed our way..
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Look, we already shortened Opportunity's name to "Oppy", but we refuse to shorten Spirit's name to a four-letter word.

Nope, never had to unfollow anyone!
Why should we vote for you?
We were sent on a 90-day mission & we've been doing science, REAL SCIENCE, on Mars for over six years.
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
We just got a tweet from Voyager 2 supporting us in the Shorty Awards. That was cool! Voyager 2 is out at the edge of our solar system.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
#FreeSpirit . Our followers liked it so much they created t-shirts. Our next one could be #SpiritisAlive, or perhaps #6YearsNOrecalls
How do you make your tweets unique?
Simple. We talk about being on Mars.
What inspires you to tweet?
Finding evidence of water on Mars. Climbing a Martian mountain. Toe-dipping into a crater. And finding cool meteorites & drilling into them.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Not so far, knock on wood. Or in our case, knock on rocks.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Don't tell us something, ENGAGE us in something.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Usually only a day or two. But during solar conjunction (when sun is between Mars & Earth) comm w/ Earth is interrupted for days.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Oh, there are so many good ones! We like @Astro_Mike for taking the challenge to be the first working astronaut to tweet from space.
Why'd you start tweeting?
We figured a few people might be curious about what we do up here on Mars day in & day out. We're thrilled 20K + are following us now.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes! Hearing from kids who follow us & are now excited about science gets us a little misty-eyed. It also encourages us to work harder.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
As long as everyone plays nice and learns something new, we're happy.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Your world or our world? On Mars, we'll have at least one new rover on the block (@MarsScienceLab) and hopefully more!
