Twitter for #BreakNews about Traffic Jam, Urban Violence, Blackouts, Police Checkpoints, Roadblocks and others in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We help millions of Brazilian drivers 24x7 to arrive home safely and quickly. Our Job is absolutely nonprofit and voluntary, all of our around 30.000 "street reports" tweet #news just to help the others, no payment or gifts are available. To understand the real importance of this service, it’s strongly necessary to show the scenario that we live in Rio. Unfortunately, our public Ground transportations are not efficient as the citizens need. The Buses are unsafe at dawn, our Metro Stop before 11 PM, taxis are too expensive for the most of population and there’s no other option for the people than use theirs Cars. At This Moment, the "@LeiSecaRJ" works providing real time #news for everyone late at night who need to arrive home safely with his family, yes safely because we can not forget that Rio still has troubles with urban violence, our govern has been working hard, but these troubles still injury the citizens.

How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I work managing the image of companies, politics, brands and etc in social networks, so twitter is for me the most important tools to do that

We use more than one, but tweetdeck and hootsuite help our +150k "street reports" more, giving agility to update our breaking news profile

Monet or Picasso? Maria Callas or Monserrat? Mozart or Bach? Different Channels for different messages, simple like this...
What feature should Twitter add?
One feature that would help us a lot could be to add videos longer. Image help our followers to get right decisions. 4sq help us a lot too.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Words like ATENÇÃO (attention in portuguese) or EVITEM LOCAL! ENCHENTE! (avoid place.. Flood)
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
I have more than 150k followers, They help me with precious info about our city that I share with the others. I Think that´s enought for me
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Unfortunatelly yes. Some people don´t understand the responsabily to post false informations for us, so we had to unfollow and block them
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
We wish Peace, green development, Democracy, Human Rights for whole planet, so, if we tweet these terms we´ll be closer them, It´s up to us!
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
We're connected with all kind of people. From students to famous actors, directors and biz people, so we believe would be unffair to choose 1

Lots! But #BOLS (short term in portuguese for Roadblocks or checkpoint), #ALAGAO (for Flooding) and #APAGAO (for Blackout) are the tops

We always make tweets useful and helpful! We are a breaknews profile, people follow us to know what to do.

Tweet is the most viral communication in the world! With my tweets I can help someone to escape from a traffic jam of dangerous zone e.g

No... We have 33,000 followers and they send us lots of information. We try to tweet just the necessary, sometimes we tweet to much, but it's for a special report like floodings or blackouts.

I think twitter is on the way to become the earth´s pulse. Everything will be in twitter.

No doubts here. Lots of people make confusion between SOCIAL & BUSINESS Netwkgs. Twitter is not a place to sell or buy stuffs, just concepts

We are a #News Channel. We receive lots of info, we need to check it, and see if it is really relevant for our audience

YES! 2 y ago I was a Business Director working for a company with +5,000 Employees. I've found out twitter, worked with it and now I'm here!
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Help each other. We do this, everyday. This Year our profile mobilized hundreds of people to help people from Brazil´s Tragedy (Flooding)
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
"More power means more responsabilities" - Spider Man´s Law. A Lot of Celebrities unfortunately does not respect this...
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Connected :-) There will be no more charges for Mobile phones (Data and Voice), all the cost will be paid by the content and the services
