The Shorty Interview
with LAGenX
What's your best tweet?
Discussing the mammogram thing. Boobs.
What are six things you could never do without?
Coffee, Law & Order, music, cell phones, family, Twitter
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
This is our professional account. We use it 100% to interact with listeners, share news stories, music, and generate awareness of LAGenX.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Twitter or Facebook?
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
#sidechickawareness was pretty clever
What feature should Twitter add?
A "followers in common" feature would be terrific. Users could see which tweeps they have in common w/ each other before following.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Honestly, it's hard for us to abbreviate words. We prefer to spell things out correctly ;)
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Yes, can't remember specific users, but tend to unfollow people who do nothing but advertise. No personal interaction.
Why should we vote for you?
We're likely the first radio show to have launched on Twitter. And if the contest were based on percentage of follower votes, we did well!
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
We've gotten interviews with great Hollywood peeps by way of Twitter. Including @LeVarBurton, @NealBaer and @ManMadeMoon.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
How do you make your tweets unique?
They're often a bit snarky, and Hollywood/Gen-X centric.
What inspires you to tweet?
We love to interact with our listeners! We launched our show on Twitter and our early followers have been with us every step of the way.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Nope! The bulk of our tweeting happens during our live broadcasts, and our listeners expect it.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Tweet as if you're talking to the world, and the world is actually listening. Tweet as if it's your last.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Ha! Individually, perhaps a few hours ;) As a show, we can sometimes go an entire day.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
Why do most people hate anchovies when they haven't even tried them?
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
@mrskutcher brings great awareness to a number of noble causes via her tweets. Starpower with heart.
Why'd you start tweeting?
To bring awareness to our radio show. Fabulous people on Twitter.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes. Without Twitter, this show wouldn't exist.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Network more. Forward any job openings in your company and other opportunities in the field to the people that follow you. They follow you because you share similar interests, and you may be in the same line of work.
How will the world change in the next year?
News will be closer to real-time and more eye witness based. Sites like Twitter have created an expected immediacy for dissemination of information. More companies will find public relations even more difficult.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Over-promoting yourself or whatever it is that you do. Stop selling us stuff. And, we may not care as much about that thing you've been talking about all day as you do. Easy on the crazy.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Steve Jobs, Richard Branson and James Cameron will have full control of the planet. Angelina Jolie will have seduced them all.
