The Shorty Interview
with Kimberly Kinrade

What's your best tweet?
The one where I met @DmytryKarpov
What are six things you could never do without?
Do people count? My kids and Dmytry. Books. Computer. Internet. A great editor.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I use it to maintain friendships all over the world and stay connected to those I may not have time to talk to regularly.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Twitter or Facebook?
It fluctuates depending on my mood. Right now I'm more into my FB author page.
What feature should Twitter add?
The ability to go back to the beginning of our twitter account and see our first tweets!
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Doesn't. I will not use don't if it is supposed to be doesn't. Drives me nuts!
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
@NeilHimself Neil Gaiman. I adore him.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Yes. Because they spammed me!
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
#KimberlyKinrade #ForbiddenMind #LexieWorld #EvolvedPublishing What can I say? I'm an author!
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
I met the love of my life through a tweet. @DmytryKarpov We are getting married this October in a castle in Nova Scotia!
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
#cutethingsmykidssay
How do you make your tweets unique?
By being me! After all, who else can claim that?
What inspires you to tweet?
The desire to share and interact with such a diverse group of awesome people!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Once! lol A few other authors and I were tweeting and got carried away with a Demon Thumb story!
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Be authentic. Vary your tweets. Don't be afraid to make mistakes!
How long can you go without a tweet?
These days, a day or so. I used to be more addicted but am trying to find balance so I can get all my books written!
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
I think it will find more ways to help people find likeminded souls with whom to connect and add more features.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That you can't really make connections with 140 character tweets!
Why should people follow you?
I try to follow my own advice of being authentic, offering value, varying my tweets & making real connections.
How do you decide what to tweet?
I try to mix it up between fun/random life updates, funny things my kids say, #WIP lines, chatting with friends and sharing cool posts.
Why'd you start tweeting?
I had a client that wanted me to create an account for them so I had to learn how to do it myself!
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
YES! Through Twitter I met my future husband, my best friends, my web designer, and took my publishing career to a whole new level!
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
It seems a lot of people have been doing a lot of links and less chatting lately. I miss the chatting.
How will the world change in the next year?
We will see more changes in the publishing industry as authors take their careers into their own hands & I'm getting married! :)
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Spamming links to everyone. Getting into arguments with others. Personal attacks. Obscene avatars and bios. Overuse of #hashtags in bios.
