If I unfollowed someone then they were probably inactive or refused to engage in conversation :)

Hard to single out just one. There are a few business deals that have gone down because of Twitter though.

Offer original content, news stories, opinionated takes.

Business.. There isn't a more interesting answer sorry :)

Don't follow random people, follow people who interest you. Even if they don't follow you back, you get value from their tweets.

As long as necessary..

I don't.. That way I'm surprised when they do.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it's a full fledged social network or a competitor of Facebook.
Why should people follow you?
I try to tweet relevant industry information from the world of travel and tourism, I always respond to conversations and interact.
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
I follow travel related accounts so in that field there really isn't anyone in particular that is one-of-a-kind.
How do you decide what to tweet?
What I feel will be relevant to my audience.

To promote my business.. Insider Perks.

Not really. Perhaps made it easier.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Be original.
How will the world change in the next year?
Besides the economy getting better and some jobs coming back, one can never tell specifics.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Not responded to questions asked of you via @ reply is probably the one I can't personally stand the most.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
