How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
Most of our hosts have their own personal accounts, and many have professional accounts as well.
What's your favorite Twitter app?
#TweetDeck - great for handing multiple accounts, which I often need to do.

No contest. Twitter win by a mile.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
#TwitterDeadlys we have an annual awards night for the best Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander tweeps, in categories we make up on the night
What feature should Twitter add?
A 'Follow @IndigenousX' button... and an ejector seat for racism. I understand this may raise some logistical difficulties, but I'm hopeful.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Deborah Mailman. Then she, @ShariLeeSebbo @JessicaMauboy & @missmirandatap could tweet songs from The Sapphires in 1st ever twitter concert!
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
I trained as a primary teacher so I am usually fairly pedantic about spelling and grammar, even on twitter. #GrammarNerd
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
Not really, we do alright as is...
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Lots of people... I unfollow people if they tweet overt racism, sexism, homophobia or other forms of prejudice and discrimination.
Why should we vote for you?
One of our former hosts @MartinGHodgson summed it up perfectly when he voted: 'because... It's the best damn thing in the known universe!' :)

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Too many to list them all... I've made hundreds of new connections, and new friends, via Twitter. It opened doors I didn't even know existed.

#racistlikeafox - it is for people to share insights into, and experiences of, racism.
How do you make your tweets unique?
We have one new host on IndigenousX every week, so you never know who or what you are getting to get from week to week.
What inspires you to tweet?
To provide a safe space for Indigenous Australians to share their stories, promote excellence, network with others & to make new friends.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yes, during the #IndigenousXto10K campaign where we got @IndigenousX to 10,000+ followers and raised $10,000+ for @IndigenousLF, in 1 week.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
If you have something important to say, say it. Be willing to take on new ideas and listen to other opinions. Be yourself and have fun!
How long can you go without a tweet?
IndigenousX is week in and week out. We haven't had to skip a week yet, and I hope we never do.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
Who is your hero/role model/inspiration? And since you asked, mine are Uncle Bob Maza and Uncle Jimmy Little.
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
Language translation features, better ways of dealing with trolls & spam, & they will give IndigenousX a blue tick! I can't wait for that :)
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Our IndigenousX hosts for being brave enough to share a little bit of themselves with thousands of strangers. Always humbling and inspiring.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
@IndigenousX - but that's kinda cheating because it is actually about 40 people (so far), and I'm slightly biased towards it ;)
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That is made up entirely of boy band fans, spammers and trolls randomly yelling abuse at people... that's only 90% of twitter, 95% tops!

To hear from a diverse range of proud and active Indigenous Australians each and every week.

@DeadlyBloggers - In many ways they are the @IndigenousX of the Bloggosphere :) Love their work!
How do you decide what to tweet?
Each host has control over what they want to tweet about. Which makes for much more fun, and makes it easier for hosts to be themselves.
How do you use social media to motivate yourself or others to live a healthier life?
Racism has negative health impacts. It effects blood pressure, anxiety & depression. Reducing racism is a goal that all of our hosts share.
How has social media helped bring your family closer together and #keepgoodgoing?
Via @IndigenousX we have built a sense of community, educated, advocated, raised funds for Indigenous literacy, & had a lot of fun.
Why'd you start tweeting?
To share some of stories, views & ideas, hopes & dreams, challenges & frustrations, & the strength & diversity of Indigenous Excellence.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes, I have made new friends, & new career opportunities, grown as an individual, and found a renewed sense of purpose via IndigenousX.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Try to understand the perspectives of other people and do some basic research before jumping feet first into an argument.
How will the world change in the next year?
However we change it, or allow others to change it. Most change doesn't just happen, we make it happen... the good and the bad.

Read tweets from #racistlikeafox and #everydaysexism and you'll get the gist...
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Trusted social media sources will have all but replaced mainstream media for news and information.
