How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
I pitch stories to reporters, keep in touch with political friends, share talking points & promote projects. It's basically my echo chamber!
What's your favorite Twitter app?
I think the official Twitter iPhone & iPad app has been the cleanest & easiest for me to use. I'm also pretty dependent on @Boxcar.

Twitter. Doy.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
When 'Michele Bachmann', 'Osama Bin Laden' and 'Ross Perot' all trended during the State of the Union. That was brilliant!
What feature should Twitter add?
The long rumored account verification solution that will replace the little blue check mark thingy. I want one. Please, Twitter. :(

What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
I try never to shorten. Ever. I'll break up my thoughts into multiple tweets, which happens frequently if I get in a ranting mood.

Yes, I have. I don't like doing it either. I'm political and my tweets are partisan. Sometimes you get people who just wants to pick fights.

I'm a political insider who likes to overshare. I try to make politics fun & understandable on a human level. Your vote means I've succeeded.

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
I've tweeted with @JoeTrippi, @EbertChicago, @PeeWeeHerman and @JohnCusack. Where else would I be able to do something like that?

I tend to use some pretty boring hashtags, but for purely self-serving Shorty Award purposes let's say #VoteForDusty.
How do you make your tweets unique?
I'm a political insider who isn't afraid to say anything on the internet. I try to be funny, be mostly I'm just here to help people.
What inspires you to tweet?
I like having a place to rant and share links. If I've got something to say, Twitter is where I like to take it. Also, stupid people.
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yes. Sometimes I get really fired up and go off on a political rant. I might also share a few too many links and pics of my pit bull.

Select 'Public' and overshare as much as humanly possible. Don't give up if you don't get it right away. And choose a good Twitter pic.
How long can you go without a tweet?
Usually somewhere between 4-6 hrs. With my iPhone and @Boxcar, I'm pretty much always connected and ready to tweet.

What do you consider an overshare on Twitter? Boxers or Briefs? Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
Politically speaking, Twitter just became the place to be in 2012. Look at #Egypt, where Twitter fueled a revolution. Twitter's a big deal.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
I'm a big fan of @EbertChicago. His twitterfeed is just the right mix of culture and politics. Also @UKProgressive keeps me informed.
Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
My old boss, @AlFranken. That said, his Twitter account is used mainly for serious Senator stuff. Runner up... @DannyZuker!
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
It's only for telling people what you had for lunch. I hope more political types are on here by 2012. Makes getting talking points easier.
Why should people follow you?
I do my best to tweet interesting political talking points and links. Also, I'm usually available if people have questions about politics.
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
I like @DCDebbie, @GottaLaff and @otoolefan. Also, any official Government accounts. I'm a policy nerd, what can I say?
How do you decide what to tweet?
I tweet the things I find interesting, funny or thought provoking. If it's something I'd want to read myself, I'll share it.

The little twitteriffic icon for the iphone was so cute I figured I should check out what Twitter was about. Been here ever since.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Twitter has done everything from getting me national TV exposure to helping me find advice on the best snow tires!
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Spellchek. And use complete sentences.
How will the world change in the next year?
Twitter will transition to 'Twitter 3D' and @EbertChicago will hate it. But hey, nerdy glasses, right?!?
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
@replying when you mean to DM, retweeting when you mean to quote and geotagging yourself in a public restroom.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Privacy will be a thing of the past and everything we say and do will be in the public eye. Also, there will be flying cars and food pills.
