My name is David Sandum and I am a painter, writer and culture lover from Moss, Norway. I am mostly known in the twitter art community for organizing twitter art exhibits for charities. In 2010, 260 twitter artists from 24 countries sent hand-painted postcards, that were exhibited on a large wall in the Moss public library, then sold to raise money for children's books. More than 221 books were purchased. This year we are doing it again for a womens crisis center.

This project and others like it, is a testiment to what twitter can accomplish by bringing people together for a good cause.
As an artist, I have a studio where I teach privat students and I exhibit at galleries each year.

Networking is key to any artist. This is a brilliant tool.

Tweet pic. I'm a painter - images are my life.

Twitter is for everyone. Facebook for family and close friends.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
Something to do with Star Wars...
What feature should Twitter add?
Spell check. I'd also like to be able to register as "Norwegian" even if I tweet in English (don't show up on Norwegian twitter acc lists)

What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
I find it difficult to write lol instead of ha ha.

Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
I often unfollow people who unfollow after we've written back and forth. It feels like backstabbing.
Why should we vote for you?
As it stands, there is a musician and DJ ahead of me in #art. I guess everything is art one way or another, but I am a painter.

Terms sounds so harsh? Is this a contract?
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
People often focus on celebs. But I have gotten to know many who should be. To mention one is hard, there are so many.

How do you make your tweets unique?
I speak from my heart. I don't know if this makes me unique, but honesty is my purpose. And hopefully my artwork.
What inspires you to tweet?
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
Yes, but usually from people who doesn't tweet more than once a day.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Be yourself, tweet from your heart, share your friends work, thoughts and dilemmas. Be genuine. If you are, who cares if they unfollow.
How long can you go without a tweet?
If it is imprinted in my mind, I must let it go.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
I was told in school that there were no right or wrong answers.
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
More interactive, isn't that what it's all about? But sometimes I wonder if people will need a solitude feature.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?

Who is the funniest person on Twitter that you follow?
@eddieizzard (even if he often tweets tourdates ;)) @robhuebel often cracks me up.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it's hard to express yourself in 140 charachters. I find it easier - to the point.
Why should people follow you?
If they like art and those who discuss life in real terms, I suppose I'm interesting. But this is very "unScandinavian" to say.

How do you decide what to tweet?
My artistic motto is taken from Edvard Munch, who got his motto from the author Hans Jaeger. It says to write or paint your life story.
Why'd you start tweeting?
I was curious, had much to learn, and plenty to share.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes, it has. Before twitter I was a lonely artist. That was fine I suppose, but I often felt lonely in the creative process. Now it's share
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Lift people up.
How will the world change in the next year?
The more you study history, the more you understand that the world repeats itself. But communication is a new phenomenon, and drones.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Don't over-sell, understate who you are, or overestimate your importance.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
