Building a strong multi-language network on YouTube with highly engaged community around it, delivering a variety of video content to the audience, ranging from documentaries and interview-style programs, to packages and raw footage of user-generated content.

RT has worked out a genuine approach towards YouTube which includes several rules: (a) quality over quantity (b) every posted clip must provoke a response (c) providing huge variety of genres from raw UGC footage to documentaries and live streams (d) following closely audience's interests, reactions, engagement level.

Results

RT's strategy on YouTube has totally paid off: RT is the most watched news network on YouTube, the first TV-news channel in the world to breach 1-billion-views mark. Now RT flagship English YT channel is approaching 2 billion views and 2 million subscribers, while the vast RT YouTube network has crossed 4 billion views mark in total and 4.8 million subscribers. Overall watch time exceeds 4,500 years. On an average day RT network records over 2 million views across its channels. The average watch time is around 3 minutes.
